Yes. All features require a verified account. Sign-in is via Google OAuth — one tap, no password to remember. Email magic link is available as a fallback. We require a verified email for account integrity.

Your uploaded resume is stored in Supabase Storage, encrypted at rest, and accessible only to your account via short-lived signed URLs. Pro users can store up to 5 resumes; Standard users have 1 slot (replaced on each upload). Resumes are automatically deleted 90 days after your Pro window expires.

PDF and DOCX (Microsoft Word). We extract the text from both. You can also paste your resume as plain text directly into the Assessment form.

Our AI works globally. Our RAG corpus (the curated knowledge base that grounds our answers) currently has deep coverage for Canada, UAE, UK, Germany, Australia, and the US, with additional countries being added weekly. Visa Snapshot is available for 140+ countries. Salary data varies by country and occupation.

Standard Assessments are delivered by email within 24 hours. We queue them and process them in batches. Pro Assessments stream directly to your screen in 5–8 seconds.

One Assessment per week, three cards in full (Resume Score, Recruiter POV, Cover Letter), the Common Scams card (always included, no exceptions), email delivery within 24 hours, one saved resume slot, and 5 chat messages per session. Standard is a real product, not a trial.

Career Pro ($19.99 / 30 days) adds: all 10 Career cards instantly streamed, unlimited assessments (subject to anti-abuse limits), 5 saved resumes, downloadable PDF without watermark, full AI chat with your resume in context, and country-specific visa + labor law content. Immigration Pro ($19.99) unlocks the 5 Immigration cards. Combo Pro ($29.99) covers both.

No. Each Pro tier is a one-time payment (Career Pro $19.99, Immigration Pro $19.99, Combo Pro $29.99) that grants 30 calendar days of access. There is no auto-renewal. When your window expires, you revert to Standard. If you want another 30 days, you buy again. We will never charge you without your explicit action.

Your account reverts to Standard automatically. Your past Assessments become read-only for 90 days — you can still view and download them. After 90 days, they are deleted. Your account remains active and you continue to get one Assessment per week.

No. Each Pro purchase is for one account. We enforce a 3-device limit and monitor for account-sharing patterns (multiple distinct IPs from geographically distant locations within a short window). Detected sharing results in the account being suspended.

No. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever. We have no ad network. We have no data broker relationships. Revenue comes from users paying for Pro access.

Only you. Our database enforces Row-Level Security — even a server-side bug cannot expose your data to another user. Recruiters can only find you if you explicitly opt into "discoverable by recruiters" in your profile settings, and even then only see your opted-in public profile — not your resumes or Assessment results.

Go to Settings > Account > Delete account. You'll have a 30-day grace period to undo it. After 30 days, every row and storage object associated with your account is permanently and irreversibly deleted.

Yes. Settings > Account > Export my data generates a ZIP file containing your profile, all Assessments (JSON), all uploaded resumes (original files), and your audit log. GDPR requires us to provide this and we make it easy.

No. Your resume and job descriptions are used only to generate your Assessment. They are not sent to any training pipeline. We use Gemini, Claude, and other provider APIs — and these providers have contractual obligations not to use API inputs for training without consent.

Our visa information is sourced from official immigration authority publications and is updated quarterly. It is not legal advice. We show the source document and its "last verified" date on every Visa Snapshot so you know exactly how fresh the information is. Always verify with a licensed immigration consultant before acting.

Currently: Canada, UAE, UK, Germany, Australia, USA. We are adding Pakistan, India, Nigeria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and 15 more countries in the next build cycle. Our corpus inventory is public in our GitHub repository.

Yes, where available in our corpus. We cover work visas, skilled worker visas, student visas, and in some countries, working holiday visas. The Visa Snapshot card shows which categories apply based on your nationality and target country.

The US system is documented but complex. We show the most commonly applicable pathways (H-1B, O-1A, EB-series, TN for Canada/Mexico) with key requirements. We always recommend consulting a licensed immigration attorney for US immigration, where errors are costly.

Only if you opt in. "Discoverable by recruiters" is OFF by default. Go to Settings > Profile > Visibility to turn it on. Even then, recruiters only see what you've chosen to make public — not your resumes or Assessment details.

Recruiter features are coming in Phase 3 (approximately Q3 2026). Recruiter signup requires a verified work email and a LinkedIn URL that matches your stated employer. Join our waitlist at hello@alfalah.app.

No. Recruiter messaging is opt-in and filtered. You control who can contact you. We do not sell your contact details to recruiters.

Stripe handles all payments. You can pay with any major credit or debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. We never see your card details.

If you've purchased Pro and haven't used it (zero Assessments run), email hello@alfalah.app within 48 hours for a full refund. If you've used Pro features, refunds are discretionary. We assess each request individually and lean toward refunding where there's genuine dissatisfaction.

Standard is the baseline — it's permanent, not a trial. Four full cards on every Assessment, every week, no payment needed. If you want to experience Pro's instant streaming and full card suite, $19.99 is less than a single month of any competing subscription.

AI systems make mistakes. Our answers are grounded in a curated RAG corpus of official sources, which reduces hallucination significantly — but not to zero. We always show the source document for factual claims. If you spot an error, email corrections@alfalah.app and we'll update the corpus.

We route tasks across Gemini Flash (structured scoring), Claude Haiku (Standard writing), and Claude Sonnet (Pro writing). We have fallbacks through Microsoft Azure and Grok. We pick the best model for each card type — not just the cheapest.

Any modern browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. We target the current version and one version back. We do not support Internet Explorer. The app is fully mobile-responsive — no native app yet, but the web app works well on mobile browsers.
