Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Alfalah AI (“Alfalah,” “we,” “us”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the service. These Terms apply to all users — Standard tier and Pro tier alike.

2. The service

Alfalah provides AI-powered career intelligence tools including resume scoring, recruiter-perspective analysis, cover letter generation, visa pathway snapshots, scam detection, and related career guidance. The service is provided as-is and does not constitute legal advice, immigration advice, or professional career counselling.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will give reasonable notice for material changes that affect Pro users.

3. Accounts

• You must be 16 years of age or older to create an account.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• One account per person. You may not share your account or credentials.
• You must provide accurate information. Accounts created with false information may be suspended without notice.

4. Standard tier

The Standard tier provides one Assessment per week, three cards in full, and email delivery within 24 hours — included, indefinitely. We reserve the right to add or remove Standard tier features with 30 days’ notice. We will never remove the Common Scams card from Standard access.

5. Pro tier

Pro access is granted for 30 calendar days following a one-time payment of $19 USD via Stripe. There is no automatic renewal. After 30 days, your account reverts to Standard automatically.

Anti-abuse limits apply to Pro accounts: maximum 1 Assessment per hour, 5 per day, and 3 simultaneous active sessions. Circumventing these limits through account sharing, bots, or other means is grounds for immediate suspension without refund.

6. Refunds

If you have purchased Pro and have not used any Pro features (zero Assessments run under Pro tier), you may request a full refund within 48 hours by emailing hello@alfalah.app. Refunds for used Pro windows are discretionary and assessed individually.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of all content you submit (resumes, job descriptions, profile information). By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that content solely for the purpose of providing your Assessment results. We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not share your content with third parties except as required to provide the service (e.g., sending it to an AI provider API).

8. Prohibited uses

• Automated or bulk use of the service beyond the stated rate limits.
• Account sharing to circumvent per-account limits.
• Scraping, reverse engineering, or extracting our RAG corpus or AI prompts.
• Using the service to produce content that violates any applicable law.
• Impersonating other persons or entities in submitted content.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided “as is.” We do not warrant that AI outputs are accurate, complete, or suitable for any specific purpose. Visa information is for informational purposes only and is not legal advice. Career guidance is for informational purposes only and does not guarantee employment outcomes.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Alfalah’s total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data enters a 30-day grace period (free accounts) or a 90-day read-only period (Pro data) before permanent deletion.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.

13. Changes to these terms

We will give 14 days’ notice of material changes via email to registered users. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
